About Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue
Proclaiming Good News to the House of Israel
Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue is a Jewish spiritual community in Jacksonville, Florida, where people can worship the God of Israel, follow Yeshua as Messiah, and live out their heritage with purpose and joy.
We are committed to biblical truth, Jewish continuity, and the restoration of all who seek a deeper relationship with God.
The Heart & Purpose of Beth Israel
Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue is a gathering place for those encountering God for the first time, as well as those seeking to return to a relationship with Him that may have grown distant. Whether you’re Jewish by birth, marriage, or discovery, or simply drawn to the God of Israel, we invite you to experience faith in a Jewish context.
Our desire is to provide a welcoming space where Jewish people, their families, and those from other backgrounds can encounter the God of Israel, deepen their understanding of the Scriptures, and experience His presence in community life. Through worship, learning, and celebrating the traditions of our people with the revelation of Yeshua as the Messiah, we seek to nurture a journey of restoration and spiritual growth that draws each person closer to God.
Our vision is to build a vibrant, intergenerational community where lives are restored, families are strengthened, and God’s presence is known.
Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue Sanctuary
Our Story
From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Congregation
Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue was founded in Jacksonville in the early 1980s as part of the growing Messianic Jewish movement. The original name of the organization was Beth Jacob Messianic Congregation. Initially a small fellowship meeting in homes and rented spaces, the congregation has grown steadily over the past 40+ years.
With each move—eventually settling at our peaceful lakeside campus on Baypine Road—Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue has deepened its commitment to Jewish worship, Scripture, and discipleship. In the mid-2000’s we were let to change our name to Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue as an outward representation of what God had been working in us as a community.
Our synagogue has remained resilient through transitions, welcoming new generations while staying grounded in biblical faith.
What We Believe
Rooted in the Scriptures. Fulfilled through Messiah.
We believe in the full authority of the Bible—both the Tanach (Old Testament) and the B’rit Hadasha (New Testament). Our core theological commitments include:
-
God is One (Echad):
A unity expressed as Father, Son (Yeshua), and Holy Spirit. -
Yeshua is the Messiah:
Fully God, fully man, born of a virgin, and the Redeemer of Israel. -
Salvation is by grace through faith:
Not earned, but received through repentance and trust in Yeshua. -
Jewish identity is not lost in Messiah:
Jewish believers in Yeshua remain part of Israel’s covenant. -
Gentile believers are grafted in:
Called to worship the God of Israel in unity with the Jewish people. -
God’s promises to Israel remain active and eternal.
He does not break his Word and His faithfulness never fails.

Worship At Beth Israel Messianic Synagogue
What You’ll Experience on Shabbat
Every Saturday morning, our community gathers in a beautiful sanctuary overlooking Baymeadows Lake in the Southside of Jacksonville, Florida. The sunlight reflects off the water, the Ner Tamid (eternal light) glows as a reminder of God’s presence, and the floor-to-ceiling ark holds our treasured Torah and Haftarah scrolls. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed by a friendly host team member who will show you around and help you feel at home.
When you enter the sanctuary, you’re free to sit wherever you feel most comfortable—by the windows with their restful view of the lake, near the dance circle where Davidic worship dances invite joyful participation, or in the front rows where you can see and hear every detail.
Our service begins with the sounding of the shofar, calling us to awaken spiritually. Together we lift our voices in song—sometimes in Hebrew, sometimes in English—singing a blend of traditional Jewish prayers, original songs written by our members, and inspiring Messianic music from around the world.
